In early 2019, Caroline came in for her consultation appointment with chief concerns being painful and loose teeth, along with some missing teeth as well. During her consultation, we determined that both jaws had favorable character for dental implants with an immediate function solution, being All-On-4.
Her previous dentist had “strung her along for over a year” regarding treatment options, all while she was suffering from the pain her teeth were causing. Her patience ran out, and she decided to send us an email requesting an appointment. Caroline claims, “I’m a big chicken; I don’t like pain”. One can only imagine the frustration she felt being constantly bothered by dental pain and dealing with a dentist who seemed to refuse to help.
During the consultation, a full comprehensive examination showed several concerns. Caroline had suffered from moderate to advanced periodontal disease from a history of smoking, significant wear on the lower teeth, failing root canalled teeth and molars, and large bone defects (areas of bone loss).
The treatment provided was the All-On-4 dental implant solution. If you are unfamiliar with this method of treatment, it means placing 4 (or more) dental implants strategically in each jaw for a prosthetic to then be affixed. We extracted all of Caroline’s remaining teeth, placed the implants, and she left that day with a brand-new set of teeth.
Now that Caroline is finished with treatment, she couldn’t be happier! “I never thought in a million years how easy and pain free this would be, and I can’t believe I wasted so much time walking around with bad teeth”, Caroline says.
